  • Free parking spaces are available at the hotel.
  • Garage parking spaces can be rented in summer for CHF 10 and in winter for CHF 12 per day.
  • A free charging station is available for electric cars (Type 2 cable provided).
  • Winter equipment, winter tyres and snow chains are necessary from October to April. At times, snow chains are even compulsory.
  • Motorways in Switzerland are subject to a toll. The fee is CHF 40.00 per year.
  • Vignettes are available at the national border, at petrol stations and post offices.

Directions

Motorways will take you from Basel, Geneva or Zurich via Bern, or alternatively via Lucerne over the Brünig Pass to Interlaken (exit number 25). From there, follow the main road to Grindelwald.

In Grindelwald, follow the main road to the church, then continue in the direction of Oberer Gletscher. After 400 metres, turn left at the signpost towards the hotel (Kirchbühlstrasse).

Directions

Motorways will take you from Basel, Geneva or Zurich via Bern, or alternatively via Lucerne over the Brünig Pass to Interlaken (exit number 25). From there, follow the main road to Grindelwald.

  • Coaches can usually turn directly from Obere Gletscherstrasse into Kirchbühlstrasse.
  • Longer vehicles (3-axle coaches) are advised to continue along Obere Gletscherstrasse to the junction with Terrassenweg. Turn around there, and then enter Kirchbühlstrasse from above.
Bus turning route
  • International train connections (including ICE) will take you to Interlaken, from where the journey to Grindelwald continues on the cog railway of the Bernese Oberland Railway and takes around 30 minutes.
  • Our hotel shuttle will pick you up directly from Grindelwald railway station in the village centre (please book in advance).

The international airports Zurich-Kloten, Geneva-Cointrin and Basel-Mulhouse all have direct train connections to Interlaken - Grindelwald. Bern-Belp Airport is connected to the railway network by airport taxi..

  • Our hotel shuttle (8 seats) primarily operates for arrivals and departures to and from Grindelwald railway station (reservation required).
  • In winter, Hotel Kirchbühl is directly connected to the Grindelwald ski bus network. Line 124 (Stutz – Railway Station – Bodmi).
  • The Alpenblick stop on the main line 121 (Oberer Gletscher – Railway Station - Terminal V-Bahn) is a 5-minute walk from the hotel and operates all year as part of the Grindelwald local bus network.
